Check out this online video of a lively and important discussion held in 2003 featuring Michael Pollan, Wendell Berry (perhaps my favorite author and an expert on the local economy), Eric Schlosser (author of Fast Food Nation and a producer of Food Inc), Vandava Shiva (featured in among other things, Dirt!) and Slow Food International's founder Carlo Petrini:
